Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Mal when I got to ask her some questions on Alpha Chick Process, power of love and gratitude. I hope you enjoy it.

Callie Carling: Hi Mal, I’d love to find out more about the Alpha Chick Process: what exactly IS it?

Mal Duane: The process came to me during meditation. I always thought I was performing seven steps but I was clearly told there were five steps that spell F-A-I-T-H.

The steps are:

• Focus
• Acceptance and Attitude
• Identification and Intention
• Thoughts
• Healing and Helping

Focus: Whether it’s through meditation, prayer, or writing; find a way to connect with your inner voice – your higher power. It is inside of you, and you’ll know it when you find it, because it’ll just “feel right.”

Acceptance and Attitude: In life, we can cling to denial so vehemently, that it may become all we know. It blocks out positive energy and binds us to the past. The main idea behind the Acceptance & Attitude step is to finally accept what has happened in your past and stop resisting it, so you can approach life with a new attitude. Once you accept what has happened to you, you’ll notice that your attitude will change almost immediately.

Identification & Intention: In this step, I will encourage you to identify 3 negative behaviors that block your potential, and then set intentions for positive actions so you can change them. The main idea behind the Identification & Intention step is to map out ways to actively change your life within the Mental/Emotional, Spiritual, Financial/Career and Physical realms. The reason for intentions is because they are far more powerful than goals. An intention has soul behind it.

Thoughts: You’ll notice, especially as you work through the 5 Steps of Faith, that you tend to repeat patterns in your life. One of those patterns is reverting back to past negative thoughts when you are in a place of insecurity. In this step, I ask you to shift your thoughts to the present when you find yourself reverting to past pessimistic thoughts. Since your mind can only hold one thought at a time, why not make it a good one.

Healing and Helping: When you reach this step in the Alpha Chick Process, I encourage you to share this knowledge and help other women learn to tap into their power. To continue to heal, you must reach out and help others with their journey.

Callie Carling: How can women tap into the power of self-love?

Mal Duane: Women unfortunately create an identity based on past mistakes and suffering. By releasing the past we can empower our present. Our true identity has nothing to do with our past. We are born as divine beings, created to live lives of joy and abundance not suffering. When we take the time to connect with our true inner voice we begin to discover who we truly are.

Callie Carling: As I have discovered first-hand, there is also much to be grateful for in this world:  how important do you feel Gratitude is in our lives?

Mal Duane: Gratitude brings more joy and prosperity into our lives. The attraction of goodness is an energy that we release to the Universe which then responds with a like energy. I have always been a strong proponent for creating a gratitude list every night before going to sleep. Put the five things that you are grateful for on a list. The power of attraction build from this list and daily you experience more joy coming into your life. When we are feeling troubled, one of the best things to do is immediately start to think of all that you have that you are grateful for. An immediate shift occurs in your feelings and in your thoughts. That is powerful!

Many of you will know that I am a huge fan of transforming our world while playing, so imagine how thrilled I was when Goddess Leonie launched her 2012 Creating Your Goddess Year Planner and Workbook in early December.  Over the Christmas period, I settled down with a cup of tea, my fairy journal and the Creating Your Goddess workbook/planner and set myself the target of shimmering into the New Year, sparkling and full of vibrant energy and joyfull goals in mind.

Callie Carling: Hi Michelle, I’d love to know more about the “choice stepping stone” and how this can help us to step towards our Destiny?

Michelle Casto: Dorothy Gilman once said, “It is when we make choices that we sit with the gods and design ourselves.” and I resonate with her wisdom.  In my forthcoming book, The Destiny Discovery:  Find Your Soul’s Path to Success, I share the idea that there are stepping stones to Destiny. Let’s look at the idea of CHOICE and remember how it gives us power in the direction of our destinies.

The Dictionary says: choice is the act of choosing, power of choosing, a person or thing chosen, the best part, care in selecting.

What it REALLY means: making a commitment to what matters to you; acting on your priorities and your values; expressing to yourself and to others what you want and need in your life.

Why it MATTERS?
 CHOICE moves you from stuck into action; from uncertainty to decision.
 CHOICE gives you freedom from ‘what should I do?’ to ‘What do I want to do?”
If you have a choice to make, take a moment right now to ask yourself these Self-Coaching Questions:
 What CHOICE do I want to make?  What is preventing me from making a CHOICE?  
What would simplify this CHOICE?

Keep in mind, that choices are one of the stepping stones that lead to great opportunities for your future. So choose wisely and choose from the heart.

Callie Carling: Many of my clients are creative entrepreneurs who are really in tune with themselves: what’s the connection between our careers and our soul purpose and how can your book help us identify our soul purpose?

Michelle Casto: Every person has a uniquely encoded purpose and the real work of our lives is finding and living it.  In my work as a purpose guide, I have come to see that a vast majority of us are either missing or mis-identifying our purpose, so much so, that it is a commonly undiagnosed malady in today’s society.   In fact, I believe that depression could be lessened, even alleviated when people live authentically and boldly from their heart.

The challenge comes from people not knowing if they are on the “right” path.   How does one know after all?  Aren’t we supposed to just find a career that pays well and give us a two week vacation every year and call it “happy.”   Why should we want more than that?

We want more because deep down, we know we were made for more.  We live in a time where we can be and do anything.

So why do we settle for less than our heart’s desires?  What I have found is that we let the “mental monsters” of fear, doubt, and disbelief make our life decisions instead of the wisdom of our soul.  We tend to get caught up in the busyness of the world, and then find ourselves lost in roles and responsibilities that we have long outgrown, and end up feeling trapped.  We fail to see the path that would lead us to our Greatness. Or we might see it, but not believe that we could really live the life of our dreams.  Unbeknownst to us, we complicate a relatively simple concept, “follow the path with heart.”   Since the ego wants to be right, it will latch onto a role or position and claim that “This is IT.”   The righteous self will expand a great deal of effort forcing things and situations to work, despite evidence to the contrary.

So how do you know if you are moving in the direction of your destiny?  You are feeling inspired and divinely guided, and you may not even know what to expect next, you are just following the beat of your heart.

Callie Carling: I have come across numerous people who sometimes find themselves paralysed by low self-esteem: how can we push past the fear of being “mediocre” in life?

Michelle Casto: The level of self-esteem and success one achieves in life seems correlated.  The higher our self-esteem, the more willing we are to take risks and put ourselves out there.  So how can we become ignited by seeing ourselves as worthy and loveable?

This inner work involves going on a journey to discover our True Selves, which is the main goal of my book, The Destiny Discovery.  We must let go of the false programming we received from our childhood that we are somehow flawed or unworthy to have what we want, and this takes some personal transformation and also opening to new possibilities. 

I have found that denial of our Divinity is a core reason we miss the mark of Destiny.  Until we can come to terms and into alignment with who we truly are:  conscious co-creators on an adventure that is ours of the making, we fall into stories of “not enough.”

It’s easy to see that feeling inadequate or somehow not worthy prevents us from accessing the power within.  What’s hard to see is how to ignore this illusion and see the Truth of inner being.  
We are so much more than our personalities, histories, failures or disappointments; we are unlimited Souls with infinite potential and a unique Purpose we can choose to fulfil. 

When we can see ourselves as the Divine sees us, as beautiful, wise, compassionate, and completely acceptable (warts and all), we then begin to push past settling for less, and then step into our greatness.

Here’s what Patty and I chatted about the other day when I got to ask her some questions about being a goddess and a woman.  I hope you enjoy it.

Callie: Hi Patty, I am so excited about your upcoming book launch: I’d love to know when, and how, you became aware that this book needed to be birthed?

Patty: Hi Callie, I am honored that you are coming along for the ride!  Well, I didn’t even know I was pregnant with this book when it was clear there was going to be a book in my future.  That must have been a hell of a one night stand!  The book kinda snuck up on me, which is how life had a habit of dealing with me.  Somewhere among all the studying, mothering and dealing with various health challenges (mine and others) several people encouraged me to write it all down.  It was of their opinion that I had a way of making alternative healing modalities sound like a viable option to conventional medicine. I seemed to take the scary out of trying something different when it came to dealing with our health.

Honestly once the “seed” was planted I really got fired up about putting this book together.  We’re taking this birthing metaphor all the way Callie!
When the book started to carve out a place in my life, I felt really ready to talk about healing.  I had completed my own training as a spiritual healer and had hung out my shingle. I realized I did have something to share and I wanted to do it in a way that was fun, personal and informative. I think I pulled that off.

Callie: As Goddesses ourselves, how can we use your book to work with the help and guidance of contemporary Goddesses to gain insight into our personal issues?

Patty: Even goddesses need love and support getting through the blind spots of life and the twelve lovely goddesses of the Healers Almanac are lined up to be available to all.  In each chapter you will find a message from the goddess that will prime your mind for opening to a higher thought or perspective. It’s there to soften your resistance to change, because healing means changing.  For those of you who shudder at the thought of that, I recommend reading the message before going on the meditation and get yourself relaxed and ready to go with the flow.

In the meditation, the goddess is going to bring to you what is needed for your healing.  Sometimes she will use stories from your past; other times she will challenge your beliefs to get you to the point where you can let go of limiting mindsets and flow right into a calmer more empowered way of seeing yourself. With each meditation you will learn something new about yourself, let something go, forgive someone or yourself, or recognize how beautiful your soul is.  These are all very important steps to healing and the goddess will be there to help you take each and every one.  Before each meditation you will be asked to get a few things ready, like a candle, something to help you ground and create a sacred space around you. These help you set the stage for a successful visit with the goddess.

I recommend writing down your experience on the journal pages right in the book, even if you don’t understand the significance of it all. Include all the metaphors and symbols. Don’t leave anything out. Later, when you go back and re-read your notes, you will be amazed at how brilliant you are and poignant the personal message is.

Callie: Reflecting on your experience as a Spiritual counselor, what would you say is the most pressing issue facing women in the world right now?

Patty: To be noticed and valued.  A tremendous amount of stress is generated within women because they are bound by low self esteem perpetuated by being seen as less than or second class citizens. The level of suppression of their creativity and freedom to move about their lives causes a lot of damage in the psyche of women.   I write about Sisterhood in the “Almanac”.  In this chapter, I introduce Sarah and she teaches us that one way out of this trap is to upgrade and heal our relationship with the divine feminine.  It is in reconnecting with this unconditional love that women can heal this wound and be able to stay in love with themselves when the world around them tries to tell them differently.

The divine feminine is present in our relationships with other women and this is where we start the healing. Every time we resist feeling jealous or compete in a destructive way with other women we make the choice to elevate ourselves and retrain our behavior, but first we need to heal the wound.  In the meditation with Sarah she will ask us to understand, forgive, love and let go of the wounds created from painful relationships with other women. It may have been with mom, a sister or female boss, either way the message is the same, you are worthy of love no matter what has been done to you. It may take more than one visit; this is a very difficult lesson!  The point is to heal so we can become a part of the sisterhood of compassionate women.  It is in these friendships nurtured by the sisterhood that we will feel the needed support to regain our sense of value.  This is where we begin to undo all the damage and remember our worth to the divine and to ourselves

Being a woman is a gift and brings the opportunity to demonstrate how powerful love is. The first step is to love and heal ourselves. Then we can, by our example, impress the world.
